Meet Our Staff
Amy
I have been with the Care family since September of 2000. I absolutely love playing with animals and feel lucky to have found a career that allows me to indulge myself.
I currently am allowed to live with 9 cats (in the house) while 10 others patrol the out-of-doors. I also have 2 dogs – 1 wonderful, 1 challenging, a goose, a duck, a rooster, and a chicken.
Candace
Candace started out helping to organize a hospital 12 1/2 years ago. She trained as a veterinary surgery technician and then on to office management. After having her daughter, Emily, Candace returned to the veterinary field. Candace has called CARE Animal Hospital home since June of 2006. Her family, in addition to her daughter, includes an assortment of critters.
Kathi
As a young girl growing up in Canada, Kathi has always has a love for animals (both domestic and wild). Every summer she and her family would go to her Uncles’ cabin in rugged Northern Ontario for several weeks. While there she enjoyed watching bears, deer, raccoons, foxes, chipmunks and whatever else wandered across her path. Her hope was to someday work in the animal field.
For ten years Kathi worked for San Diego County Department of Animal Control starting as a kennel assistant and then became a Field Officer. She loved investigating cases and helping the mistreated or injured animals.
Kathi had the opportunity to work as a receptionist in a veterinary hospital in Hawaii while living there in the early ninties. In 1993 she returned to California and continued in the veterinary field at a practice in Oceanside. 1998 began her career with CARE Animal Hospital. Kathi finds helping our clients with their pets to be a very rewarding experience. The favourite part of Kathi’s job at the hospital is fostering wildlife, and she is great with them! Sparrows, finches, doves and occasionally a duckling have had the good fortune to wander into this ladys’ path. Kathi finds a great sense of accomplishment when the little creatures are old enough to be released back into the wild!
Kathi’s menagerie of pets include two cats, Jolie (aka Miss Priss) & Theo, one mini-schnauzer, Pandi and four birds, her favourite being Angel, seen with her in the photo.
