Avian experience includes caged birds (finches, parakeets, cockatiels, parrots, cockatoos and macaws) and flock birds (geese, ducks, chickens, guinea fowl, peacocks, swans and raptors). Exotic pets include lizards, turtles, snakes, rodents, ferrets, and pot belly pigs.
SENIOR / GERIATRIC PROGRAM:
For all pets 7 years of age or older we recommend several special tests that can help diagnose some of the common old age problems in pets which do not produce outward or observable symptoms of diseases. Such diseases include: heart disease, liver disease, kidney disease, lung disease and other age related problems. Even if your pet displays no symptoms of disease the aging process produces internal changes causing disease. We need to discover and prevent problems before they begin.
SKIN DISEASE:
Our hospital tests for allergies to fleas, food or vegetation to determine the origin of the pet’s itchy problems to better treat your pet. We provide the most current information and home treatments for pets with fleas.
ORTHOPEDIC SURGERY:
Dr. Alcorn has considerable experience and skill in many areas of orthopedic surgery. His experience includes bone plating, screw/pin/wire technique, knee ligament surgery, external bone fixation and hemimandibulectomy for jaw cancer.
